8th May, 2026My trip through Mauritania was one of the most unforgettable travel experiences I’ve ever had. The country feels wild, open, and completely different from anywhere else I’ve been. Endless desert landscapes, giant dunes, rocky plateaus, silence, stars at night — it all felt almost unreal.

8th May, 2026I did a 10-day tour through Mauritania planned by Idoumou, and I’m so glad he was recommended to me by a friend. I can honestly say he became more like a friend himself. You can trust him completely, and everything he organizes is done perfectly. He seems to know everyone important in Mauritania, and with him behind the scenes, you feel completely safe and well taken care of. I traveled with three amazing guys: Sadam, my translator — sadly I don’t speak French, but he helped me so much and was a truly great person. Then Hamdou (I hope I’m spelling the name correctly), the driver. I have honestly never traveled with such a skilled driver. Where other cars got stuck, he drove through with ease — and even helped the stuck cars! And finally the cook. It’s unbelievable what he was able to prepare in the middle of the desert. I enjoyed every meal so much. These three guys are highly recommended. I truly enjoyed spending time with them all — they were kind, helpful, and great company throughout the journey. When Idoumou is planning a trip, I have complete trust in him, and it’s no surprise he put together such an excellent crew. Thank you all so much! What I saw of Mauritania was unbelievably beautiful — endless wide landscapes, incredibly friendly people, and unforgettable experiences. If you’ve ever thought about traveling to Mauritania, do it. It is absolutely worth it. Thank you again, and hopefully we will meet again someday.
