About Sipi Falls
Sipi Falls is a spectacular series of three major waterfalls located in Kapchorwa District, approximately 280 km (4–5 hours drive) from Kampala.
The waterfalls include:
- Upper Falls – ~85 meters
- Middle Falls – ~75 meters
- Main Falls – over 100 meters (most iconic)
The entire area is surrounded by lush green valleys, coffee plantations, cliffs, and over 300 smaller waterfalls, offering some of the most dramatic scenery in Uganda.
During sunny mornings, a beautiful rainbow mist often forms across the falls—one of the highlights of the region.

Detailed Safari Experience
Day 1: Kampala – Sipi Falls
Depart Kampala in the morning and drive through scenic countryside, coffee plantations, and roadside markets. Arrive in Sipi in the afternoon and enjoy relaxation with panoramic views of the valley.
Day 2: Hiking Sipi Falls Adventure
After breakfast, begin a guided 3–4 hour hike exploring all three waterfalls.
Along the trail, enjoy:
- Scenic viewpoints overlooking Kapchorwa plains
- Coffee farms and terraced landscapes
- Misty rainforest paths and river crossings
You will be provided with walking sticks and guided by experienced local guides who know the best viewpoints and photography spots.

1. Abseiling (Rappelling) at Chebonet Falls

Visit local Arabica coffee farms grown at high altitude (up to 1,900m). Learn the full process:

Day 1: Depart From Kampala To Sipi Falls
We drive towards Sipi above Jinja and Mbale looking gradually over Mount Elgon (4300 m). By early afternoon, before we reach Sipi we drive up the mountain road and get a good impression of the plateaus, which is the setting for the three impressive Sipi waterfalls. In the afternoon you can relax and have time to enjoy a drink and the view of the sunset at your booked lodge.Accommodation Category:

Day 2: Hiking To Water Falls
After morning breakfast, You will be transferred for a guided hike. You can choose between a short or longer route to the waterfall through fruit plantations and villages. One waterfall is perfect for taking a quick shower and you can even enjoy a cold swim.Another hike for seven hours takes five waterfalls, a cave, and most beautiful scenery passing through plenty of villages and fruit and coffee plantations. Whichever hike we choose today will be a beautiful day in paradise Visitors will have a coffee-making experience in the small village and also lunch here and finally back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive Back To Kampala
After breakfast, drive towards Jinja for a lunch stop. The journey takes about 4 hours and visits craft shops which are adjacent to nice restaurants. After lunch, you will continue with your journey back to Kampala. The guide/driver will drop you at the hotel of your choice.
