Boya Hills & Boya People or Larim Tribe - Larim People of South Sudan are among the blessed over 64 tribes of South Sudan, speaking different ethnic languages and English, Arabic as their uniting languages in their cities, and boya tribe is one of them, please note: many people refer to them as Boya people due to their stay in Boya hills but thy are called Larim people.

Boya Hills & Boya People or Larim Tribe - Larim People  Living in pretty villages in the shadow of mountains and gigantic boulders, the Boya paint their houses in attractive patterns and adorn them with intricate beadwork. you can visit the Boya/Larim people or Boya hills on your 15 Days Best of South Sudan Tour-Mundari cattle Camp, Toposa, Jiye, Larim, Lotuko

Although scarification is practiced here, interestingly it is more prevalent among the younger women rather than the older ones, and the local explanation is that they are copying a ‘trend’ from the Toposa, one of their near neighbors.

Traditional mourning dress for Boya/ Larim women involves wearing animal skins around the waist and bending the legs and arms with thin leaves to make a striped pattern – when a husband dies a Boya/Larim woman becomes the property and responsibility of his closest male relative.

The Boya/Larim are also hunters and it is not uncommon to see groups of children practicing their skills with a bow and arrow on the outskirts of villages.
